Ok, back to the wretch. Read any account of an abused wife at the hands of a skilled, psychopathic abuser and you’ll see the same behaviour. Next morning, when he unlocks her from the wardrobe and makes her empty the bucket she had to use as a toilet, he is all smiles and sweetness and light with her.

An example from cinema is Zero Dark Thirty – after torturing the prisoner, they next start treating him kindly. They don’t say out loud, surely you don’t want to make us go back to that?

The unspoken (*) threat is, ‘See darling, I can be nice as pie. What a wonderful, happily-ever-after life we’ll have from now on – so long as you don’t displease me like you did last night. He’s playing the perfect husband she was tricked into imagining he was in the beginning. Psychopaths get off on this. You can’t imagine the sexual, sadistic pleasure they get from victory and control. Watch a cat tormenting a mouse. When he takes her to bed later, she’ll do everything he says and he’ll never have to threaten the wardrobe out loud. She does that part to herself, in her head.

*) it’s unspoken because to say the words substantially weakens the magical effect. It also ruins any chance of gaslighting her, because once you’ve referred to the cupboard, you can’t then say, ‘It’s all in your head, darling.’ Direct threats of violence is how thick, ASPD, chav wifebeaters operate, not smooth psychopaths.

Sorry, decent, law-abiding, taxpaying citizens. You lose. When our courageous government gaslight you about how eager they are to prevent violence against women and girls, first check out their truthfulness. Check out these adverts to see who they are casting as villains and what colour the good and bad guys are.

The ‘bad guys’ are all normal people, who respond to a firm word. ‘That’s not ok’ works with basically decent people. It does not work on cons or violent mental patients with forensic histories, men (and women) who are skilled at instrumental, acquisitive violence.  Do you see any Muslim rape gangs there, about to kidnap a white girl for industrial rape from a social services home but just in time, someone from another ethnicity corrects them with a ‘that’s not ok’ and they immediately see the error of their ways and release her? Don’t hold your breath for those adverts. And whatever you do, don’t ask why Britain’s known violent offenders are being babied and rewarded in our institutions, the institutions you get to pay for but don’t get to influence how they are run.
